Businesses that Give to Breast Cancer Charities

Originally posted 10/5/16, Revised 9/27/17

It’s almost Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I thought I would help you muddle through the businesses that donate to charities. We have lately seen an influx of Pinkwashing, businesses that sell something pink to make you think they are helping breast cancer charities.

Please take the time to look into the product, some of these businesses are either not donating or donate a very, very tiny portion of the sale.

I wanted to put together a list of what I found. This is by no means all, but I tried!

Independent Businesses Who Support Breast Cancer Charities

HKelly designs gives back to a couple different charities and this year’s breast cancer charity is Living Beyond Breast Cancer, the charity is mentioned in description of item, if a percentage is donated. And every year I have a t-shirt created and all proceeds are donated.

AnaOno Intimates, a brand of lingerie to help women who have been through breast cancer feel great again in lingerie. (Dana Donofree is a friend and fellow young breast cancer survivor. She donates to a couple of charities and you can check them out here.

Acure Organics, a family run business helping people to steer away from toxic chemicals. You can see who they support here.

Clover Lewis Swimwear, a line of swimwear for breast cancer patients. Clover, a breast cancer survivor, does not specifically donate money, but donates time and a lot of energy to help fight this disease.

Haralee, sleepwear for Hot Women donates a percentage of every sale to breast cancer research.

JoJo Mac Handbags creates and donates chemo hats made from the scrap yarns of their designs. JoJo donates them to her local hospital boutique and the American Cancer Society

Lisa Jey Davis, Bestselling Author “Ms. Cheevious in Hollywood” and BRCA “previvor” sells some items and every penny earned will go to the FORCE (Facing Our Risk Against Cancer Empowered).

Businesses Who Support Breast Cancer

One Hope, award winning wine, coffee and gifts where every item donates to a good cause, including helping women get in to clinical trials for breast cancer. Special this month 20% off all wines supporting women’s health.

Brighton donates money in a couple of ways including $10 of every Power of Pink bracelet sold. They also help raise money through events organized by their stores.

White House Black Market has a limited edition collection of items that benefits Living Beyond Breast Cancer and has included 4 amazing survivor/thrivers in their campaign.

Trades of Hope, in addition to supporting artisans, when you purchase from the Breast Cancer Collection, 20% of the net profit will be given to The Pink Ink Fund, a non-profit offering reconstructive, post-mastectomy tattooing.

The Greater Good: The Breast Cancer Site, has a clicker to help raise money for mammograms for women as well as sells items that a portion of the proceeds go to fighting breast cancer.

Charities and Their Supporters

Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a Philadelphia based, national charity has a list on their website of major contributors. Click here to view.

Young Survival Coalition, a charity for people diagnosed under the age of 40 is a national charity. You can view their major supporter list here.

BreastCancer.org, a national breast cancer charity, helping women and loved ones navigate through breast cancer. You can view their shop and who supports them here.

Metavivor “is dedicated to the specific fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. At the time of METAvivor’s founding, no organization was dedicated to funding research for the disease and no patient groups were speaking out about the dearth of stage 4 cancer research.  While more and more people have taken up the cry for more stage 4 research, METAvivor remains the sole US organization dedicated to awarding annual stage 4 breast cancer research.”

Metastatic Breast Cancer Network with its mission to Educate, Advocate and Empower people with stage IV breast cancer and those who love and care for them.

I hope this helps you navigate Breast Cancer Awareness Month just a little bit better. Don’t buy things because they are pink (unless you love pink) and think they all donate the same way. Breast cancer and all cancers need a cure, let’s work towards a cure together!
